Dr. Joseph Glazier was born in Indianapolis and has been a resident of Indiana all his life. Joseph’s interest in medicine began at the age of four when he broke his arm in a minor accident. The on-call emergency room physician treated his injuries with kindness and compassion. Joseph instantly realized that a career in medicine was his calling.
Due to Dr. Glazier’s outstanding scholastic performance and achievements, Butler University accepted him into the highly competitive accelerated pre-medicine program. There, he received a double major in zoology and chemistry upon graduating in 1970, cum laude. He continued his medical education at Indiana University Medical School, where he graduated in 1973.
In 1974, he began his Family Practice internship at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. According to Dr. Glazier, this important program enabled him “to obtain a general background in multiple medical disciplines”. The following year, he began his Anesthesia residency until its completion in 1977.
Joseph Glazier MD began his full-time career at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center of South Bend in 1977. His main responsibilities included general Anesthesia cases and pain management procedures. After more than 25 years of mainly clinical Anesthesia cases, Dr. Glazier shifted his focus towards pain management care procedures. Pain Management Care PC was founded to better serve the communities of Michiana in Northern Indiana and Grant County in Central Indiana.
